It’s been a while since my last post, so let me apologise for that first. Sometimes you have to set your priorities straight in life and both things personally and SMASHREVENUE-related pretty much blew up (in a good way!) over here. We just made the move into a new office building and hired / re-located some people such as the former Business Development Manager at AdultFriendFinder to join the team; which translates to more offers and greenbacks in your pockets!

Besides hiring new staff for SMASHREVENUE we have also assisted more and more affiliates to move away from the self-serve platforms like TJ / EXO and start buying up flat rate spots. You might wonder ‘why?’.

It’s actually pretty simple. It’s not hard to build a profitable campaign on either of those self-serve platforms, but the constant bidding wars and all the other bells and whistles that come with it are simply annoying. On a flat rate buy you have more options like using your own iframe / ad-server to place your ads, change ads on the fly and get dirt cheap traffic in myriad different countries.
Of course that requires a decent budget and some experience and i doubt your first flat rate buy will be profitable but for 2014 flat rate buys (especially mobile!) is the way to go.

Quite a few affiliates continually ask me why we don’t bring new affiliate managers on board and keep dealing with each of you guys on a personal basis; well that’s another no brainer. The average affiliate manager has most likely never ran a campaign in his life and has no idea what he is talking about. Put yourself in his shoes – you get paid a base salary and a commission on the amount of leads or business you bring in. So what do they do ? Of course they will tell you to push the stuff that makes them the most money regardless if it converts or not.. well that isn’t their problem if you’re losing your ass on your campaign as long as they make their commission.

If you want the highest payouts, some deadbeat affiliate mangers and brokered offers then run with any other network, but don’t bother to hit us up at SMASHREVENUE.

We are still an exclusive, private network (no advertising whatsoever) with a select group of affiliates that keep us healthy, guarantees quality for the merchants / advertisers and helps our affiliates to grow from $200 – $20,000/day in a matter of weeks or sometimes even days. As some of you know i went to Dubai for a couple of days which was quite a blast – getting chased by the ambulance and police while driving like a 16y old on speed in a Lamborghini Aventador and getting molested by Russian hookers – Good times!
Besides that the city was pretty boring overall.. Nice cars, fine dining and luxury shopping is about all you can do there. We even drove a little race to Abu Dhabi which turned out to be a total ghetto.
The sneaky ATM even swallowed my mate’s ATM. So we won’t visit that city any time soon again.. lol

There are tons of risks when running a CPA network that the majority of affiliates simply don’t understand and they don’t know what really happens behind the scenes.

Dealing with a shady merchant to make 1.5% more margin, or broker an offer from someone you have being doing business with for the past 4 years without any payment issues?

Sure, let me tell ya 1.5% on an 8-figure weekly payment is a good chunk of cash, but getting screwed out of it hurts much more then enjoying the extra 1.5% every week.

Running a CPA network is all about minimizing your risks. There’s still a good chunk of affiliates that we trust and work closely with and pay them on a net0 basis. All of them are close to 7 figures+ a week and never cause any headaches.

But would I do that again? Most likely not unless I would form a close relationship with the affiliate in question and build a solid history of 7 figures and several quality checks.

Weekly Net5 payments are more than fair terms that work for almost anyone out there. It gives the network and merchant enough time to check for possible fraud and the affiliate still gets paid fast enough.

Keep in mind, some merchants hold you accountable for fraudulent leads for up to 30 days. That means we actually have to re-pay them for leads we paid you out 3 weeks ago.

All it takes is one bad fish in the pond to kill the offer for everyone else in the network.

Screening and working closely with your affiliates is essential to keep a healthy CPA network like SMASH Revenue afloat. Cash-flow is a whole other story but we won’t have to discuss this.

Luckily we never had to deal with any outside investors or deal with banks to get to the next level in business. God bless our bank accounts are still healthy to date.

(Despite all my immature purchases… who needs 6 cars and only 1 has more than 2 seats..duh?!)

More and more people come up to us and ask us the same questions over and over again: ‘Tuan and Jay, you are so rich why are you affiliate mangers?’ – Well this is actually one of my favorites, because it could not be further from the truth.

First of all we own and operate the network (SMASH Revenue) together and why the hell is Bill Gates still working?

Why is this weird blonde hair guy Richard Branson trying to fly to the moon after all the money he made?

Why is Dan Bilzerian still playing poker after clearing 50 Million profit this year?

You see the pattern. Money is the motive when you start out but it’s only a by-product to keep you satisfied and maintain your lifestyle once you ‘made it’.

Did we make it yet? Some people might think we did, because we could retire tomorrow and would never have to work again.
But If you would ask us – We are far from being done.

We are actually just getting started this year after having to deal with some serious health issues inside and outside our companies.

I just got some cancer cells removed my stomach and colon this week but I didn’t event spend a single night in hospital. Not because I am a such a tuff guy – i am the biggest fucking pussy when it comes to doctors – but I don’t want my health to slow me down. I have a current goal in my mind and i’ll do anything to get there as fast as possible. After i got out of the hospital, my girl put me to sleep and I went to the gym the next morning and lived through the day like nothing happened. Some things slow you down in life but it takes much more then a little bit of cancer to throw us off the tracks.

At the end of the day it were just cancer polyps/cells and no real tumors.. so now I am eating some weird anti-cancer pills, but my whole body is pretty much a walking pharmacy filled with performance enhancing drugs

None of us wants to spend the rest of his life lounging at the pool, banging random broads and driving exotic cars. Well we are already doing that on a daily basis, so no reason to retire for that

In all seriousness and all jokes aside – Work is not all about money. It’s about the inner satisfaction. Coming from nothing, dropping out of school, diving through dumpsters to find eatables to survive and to ultimately hustle your way up (LEGALLY!) to finally pick between a Mercedes SLS, an Lamborghini Aventador & Gallardo, Cayman S, Z4 or a 5 Series to drive to dinner is the real satisfaction.

Again, it’s not about the cars but it’s about the freedom and the satisfaction you get how people will treat you. Ok enough bragging.. well one more.. fucking Valium / Espresso combo keeps me spilling all the beans here..

Being under 30 and pulling up in an orange colored Aventador at the finest Hi-So Restaurant in Bangkok while bumping ‘Bandz make her dance’ – might sound immature and childish but the look on peoples faces is priceless. Everyone is dressed up in their cute Hermes belts and LV shoes and I rock up in my shorts, t-shirt, sandals with the hottest chick on my side (soon to be wife!) and still get the best table in the joint.

You can’t imagine the amount of ‘rich-kids / celebrities’ trying to fight me on a random night out with my girl because we literally shit all over them just being younger and more wealthy then them. We are actually trying to be nice with them and send them a bottle to their table if we notice their pissed off face. Not that we give a rats-ass but at least we tried, right? They still feel like the lose face. Sad people.

That sounds extremely selfish and immature but I worked extremely hard for all I have and earned every dollar I spent.

So no shame in my game.

Don’t forget all the family members, ‘friends’ and everyone else who will come out of the wood-works to leech of your success.

I have helped countless people – people I barely knew – and I have never asked anyone for single dime back. If they had a backbone, they’d come back to me and say ‘Thanks for the 10k USD you lend me back then, I am still short but here is $20 as a sign of good faith’. It’s the gesture that matters not the amount. But most of them will never call you again. It’s human nature. I don’t blame them. People are garbage.

Fuck the 10k – I don’t even want it back, I’d rather see him and his family succeed and prosper and once he can really afford it, he might invite me to a vacation or do something else to thank me for helping him out of the shitter back then.

Affiliates are sadly no different. As always you can’t put them all in one box and label them but the majority is just a waste of time. I am sure every network owner and Affiliate Manager around the world will agree with me. 1% make up for 99% of the networks revenue and you will most likely never hear a single word from them – besides a ‘thank you’ for the Christmas / birthday present.

The other 99% squawk your ear off and basically expect a profitable campaign handout. Tuan and I used to be even that generous and actually gave some people some of our own campaigns to run but what did the majority of those affiliates do?

They took the campaign and ran them for a few hours then found another network that paid them $0.05 more per lead and ran the campaign there.

I hope no one takes this post personal (well you all know who you are ) as I don’t mean anyone in particular but I am sure it’s an eye opener for some, if you sometimes only receive a ‘one liner’ reply from Tuan or me. SMASH Revenue is now over 1 year old and we are proud of what we have accomplished until today.

In the end it’s their loss. They might got away with 1 profitable campaign but are now back to square one. Now have fun and enjoy dealing with that busty hot blonde Affiliate Manager chick who has never ran a campaign in her life.

We still value every affiliate and are happy to help out, jump on a skype video chat with you and help you to get your campaigns setup properly and hopefully get you profitable. But if you ain’t loyal with us – don’t wonder if your emails stay unanswered.

You have heard it over and over again. Pick one traffic source, one placement, master it and move on.
Indeed that’s solid advice, but for the more advanced and well funded affiliate marketer, RON traffic has proven to be the holy grail of adult traffic. Like every other traffic source RON can make you or break you. You can run into quality issues with your advertiser, you can easily run out of funds to do proper testing and so on.

The key to make RON traffic work is a balance of volume and quality. It’s needless to say that theres an almost unlimited amount of RON traffic out there. It’s NOT going to be a challenge to spend $500,000/day on RON if you’re ready to push the envelope, but how do you properly monetise it without knowing what traffic you are going to get?

Filtering and monetising excess traffic is the key to success! It’s really plain and simple. You will have traffic coming in from hundreds if not thousands of different sites and you really need to be on top of your game and have all your ducks in a row to not lose your ass on your traffic buy. The first few days or even the entire first week you will probably lose a ton of money (depending on your budget) but once you have filtered out the profitable from the unprofitable sites, it’s all about scaling and optimising those placements. To keep it really simple, lets say you have traffic from 100 sites coming in – realistically, 5-15% of those sites will be profitable for you. The rest will just not back out. The truth can be painful sometimes but you gotta keep it real. After all your livelihood depends on it.

Once you have your 5, 10 or even 15 profitable sites filtered out you can either stop all incoming traffic from all unprofitable sites or you can simply sell the traffic to another broker and get some of your money back or even turn a profit.
Another option is to send it to one of the programs like www.affil4you.com (no aff link) if you’re running mobile RON. They will automatically redirect the traffic to matching offers and you have a better chance of monetising your excess traffic.
Some of these offer can be on a revshare basis (think longterm!) and others are just CPS/PPL.

Personally I do the following: I focus on the profitable sites first and pause all other sources. Then I’ll keep optimising those placements until I am confident that most of them are able to run almost on auto-pilot. Truth to be told, most of my campaigns require little to no maintenance at all. Of course I do check my campaigns every day – have my designer create new batches of banners and my assistant upload and manage them, but overall I look at it as a minor task of my day to day business.

Sometimes you’ll find some highly profitable sites through RON and if you dig deep enough or have the right brokers / contacts you can easily arrange a flat rate buy on those given sites. If you’re lucky and the site is also on certain other networks you’ll get a managed flat rate buy which will take most of the workload off your back. On top of it your CPM is most likely going to drop, which will make you even more money – It can’t really get any better then this.

The entire process with a low six figure budget takes me about a week to find profitable sites and optimise them and hand them over to my employees to manage them. Of course I don’t just delegate the campaigns to them, I’ll try to keep an eye on everything and make sure they are actually capable of handling those campaigns. Empower your employees, drop them a nugget, give them an incentive so they are actually pushing the envelope for you and trying to get the most out of your campaigns.

You can’t always expect to win and of course some campaigns crash and burn after a few days, but thats the name of the game.

Once you are at the point where you employees manage most of your campaigns you can focus on trying to get all other sites, that didn’t back out on the first buy, profitable. Like I previously mentioned theres many ways to skin a cow, so it’s really up to you and your personally preference what you plan on doing with them. Sure you can totally neglect them, but I have the feeling if I don’t make money on those sites, someone else will and that is something I don’t want to let happen.

RON traffic comes in many forms these days. You can target specific niches like ‘black, blondes, amateurs’ , WEB / MOBILE etc. There are multiple ways to monetise each and every of those different type of RON sources but I would suggest you start with something really simple like WEB RON or if you are into Mobile then that should be your starting point.

Unlike any other traffic source, RON (run of network) requires a decent capital to get going. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to deal with RON traffic below a $10,000 budget. The reason are quite simple.
You will get a ton of data in a very short period of time, but the data will be spread amongst hundreds if not thousands of different sites. You’ll see one lead here and there but nothing that will really stand out or have any statistical significance.

It costs money to make money and RON is really the prime example for it. This is definitely not something you should do if you are new to affiliate marketing and especially Adult.
I have never encountered more ‘nay-sayers’ in the affiliate industry when it comes to RON traffic, but that should be an eye-opener for you. If all of them leave RON on the table and don’t want to deal with it, it simply means more money for you.

Right now RON isn’t on high demand except for a couple heavy hitters out there, that I am proud to have on our network ( SMASHRevenue ) and helped them personally to get it right. Like everything else in this industry – it isn’t rocket science. It’s all about your risk tolerance, mindset and ability to overcome the fear to lose 5 or 6 figures. Personally I have never seen anyone with a decent budget lose his entire investment on his buy.

Anyway, be cautious when you start out with RON. It can be frustrating, mind boggling and you’ll face all kind of hurdles along the way until you get it right, but look at the big picture. What is a $20-30,000 loss in a week, if you are able to bank $20-30k/day the following weeks from it ? Think longterm and don’t cut your sites out too early.

For some people this particular type of traffic is a science on its own and I couldn’t agree more. It took me a while to get it right and I completely lost my ass on it the first weeks ( I think it took me about 5 weeks ) but once you get it right it really is the holy grail for adult traffic.

If you aren’t ready to take the risk just yet and don’t have the funds to stomach a five figure loss, I highly advice against any sort of RON campaign you might have planned after reading this post. Save your money and spend it wisely. The traffic isn’t going anywhere. It just keeps growing and growing. In reality you have plenty of time to dabble into it.

Like on any other traffic source you will have to deal with competition and saturation at a certain point. After all RON is nothing but a huge amount of fish being tangled in your net and you have weed out the good ones from the bad ones, to put in layman’s terms. Chances are the profitable sites you find already have a decent amount of affiliates on it, so it’s not different from a traditional self serve buy, BUT you are able to find profitable sites much faster then the average affiliate and have ‘back-up’ sites you can monetise later on.

We all know the christmas season is sort of special. Most of you spend the time with their families, go on vacation and neglect some of
your campaigns. It also means the bid prices drop, the traffic inventory is a lot bigger than in any other time of the year!
You should take advantage of it but be careful if SOI offers are your bread and butter.

The advertisers are getting more and more strict around this time of the year and you could easily get optimised off the offer you have been running for months or even years. Be smart about it and have a backup plan in place! It’s a critical time to say the least.

With the bid prices so low – like they are now – it’s time to test some fresh and new offers.
Break out of your comfort zone, step away from your favourite SOI offer and try to make some DOI or even Webcam offers work.

Webcam offers are easier than ever to convert at this time of the year. Unlike dating offers where your customer is looking for an actual relationship or a quick hook-up, the webcam customer knows he is only going to see a girl on camera.

There are multiple angles you can play along certain webcam offers. I would highly recommend banner traffic for these offers. Inside SMASH we have quite a few webcam offers which do extremely well the past few weeks and some affiliates are scaling them like there is no tomorrow.

Your perfect funnel would be something like this:

a) Make sure the girl on your banner matches the rest of your funnel
b) Just like a) have a matching girl on your pre-sell lander
c) The landing page should go hand in hand with your banner / pre-sell combo

It’s extremely basic and simple and I feel almost stupid to write the A,B,C but it just works! It has been working for years and there is simply no reason to re-invent the wheel.

Another way to cash in on these offers is with pop-under traffic. Personally I have never seen prices so low for pop-under traffic in the past 2 years. You can’t really lose on it. If you are a SMASH affiliate, send some leads, hit me up for a pay bump and I am confident we can make this work! If others can do it, so can you!

Once the christmas season is over, it’s going to be a highly profitable few months for almost every affiliate out there. Weight-loss and muscle products will be on high demand as well as any smoking-remedy offer or vaporiser offers.

There used to be a huge spike in the competition when companies like Traffic Junky and Co opened its doors and to this day the competition keeps growing and growing.
Their backend was and is still easy to use and the learning curve in adult in general is relative small… Well that’s what the majority of people think out there.

Truth to be told, it’s really not that easy anymore. Doesn’t matter if you’re running in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 country. The competition is as fierce as ever and but luckily adult is one of the most transparent niches and figuring out what works or not can be done in a matter of hours.

So what has changed? The newbie affiliate marketers have driven bids up so high on places like TJ and ExoClick that it’s almost impossible to run some ‘set and forget’ campaign in a Tier 1 country on those platforms. You will need a proper game plan and watch your bids and campaigns like a hawk while they are running. The days of an easy $10k/day auto-pilot in the US on Tube8 are sadly not that easy anymore… but not impossible either! So don’t jump the gun and join the bandwagon of people who are screaming ‘adult is dead since 2001!’

It’s alive and kicking as ever!

Now you have to deal with a lot more things you haven’t had to deal with in the past. Insane bid prices – and tons of people ripping your stuff left and right. Affiliates jumping from network to network to stay on the same offer where they got canned on Network A, just to get canned on Network B a few days later. It’s a never ending circle. Almost like a rat race.

What I have outlined above is the general newbie approach to adult marketing these days. Test with high bids, get a lot of data, lower your bids and cut your ads. That’s the 4-Step formula used by most guys out there.

It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong but – but the truth is $1,000 doesn’t get you the data you need anymore. These days you will have to test with a ‘real’ budget to get ‘real’ results if you are running on self serve.

The more advanced marketers don’t do anything different, but they don’t test until they are profitable. They whip out their calculator and know exactly which CPM they need to make a profit on their campaign. Naturally their testing budget is much lower. You might think ‘WTF like I never whipped out my calculator?’ , right?

If I had a dollar for every affiliate that thanked me for this insanely stupid tip I’d be a bazzilionaire by now. What most of you don’t realize is that you are technically running blind campaigns unless you have outlined several things to become profitable.

The essentials to a profitable campaign:

• Choose 1 or 2 adspots and stick with them, no matter what
• Have a set of creatives and matching landers ready to go
• Be able to analyze your data to a T in order to make logical decision
• Know the most basic metrics of general advertising
• Have a backup traffic source (mostly flat rate) to get the CPM you need

What sort of CPM / CTR do I need to get where I want to be? We are talking anywhere from 10% – 300% ROI here.

Traffic Sources:

Most guys I know are running banner traffic. Well why banners?
Because they see them on every tube site and assume they are working.

What about pop-ups or pop-ups / pop-unders ? Have you ever wondered how Live Jasmine and other Cam companies are able to advertise on almost every tube site on the planet?

Well the traffic is fucking cheap! Ding Ding Ding!!

What about PPV traffic? The quality and volume has gone to shit but you can still turn an easy profit on it.

The advantages of pop up/under and PPV traffic are simple

• its cheap
• no need to change your banners 5 times a day
• less competition

What are the issues with those traffic sources? Well quality issues arise more often as some of the landers I have seen out there are simply misleading. You will face that problem on any other traffic source as well, but in general the risk of getting canned from an offer when running Pop’s is a bit higher.

Banners are easier to target and hook your audience versus putting a random landing page in front of their face and hope they convert (not just on the LP but also on the merchants backend).

Offers:

Everyone and their grand mom loves to push lead-gen SOI offers. We all know how easy it is to create a profitable SOI dating campaign. In reality SOI offers are a nightmare for the advertiser. Getting those emails to convert gets harder and harder every day. Of course some guys out there resale their members, spam their lists and do god knows what to squeeze the last buck out of it – but a single bad pub in the pool can kill and entire offer.

Did you notice that most new and ‘hot’ offers allow you to login with a single click of a button? ‘Click here to login with your facebook profile’ and cha-ching the advertiser has your name, your pictures and every other personal info you can think of. It’s an easy way to create an attractive site from an advertisers perspective and in various ways more profitable then the traditional email opt-in.

Besides the lead gen stuff, you can run pretty much anything you want on adult traffic. Have you tried muscle / men’s health or insurance offers?

You will face a lot less competition, higher payouts and some of those offers will murder your traffic sources. We are talking ROI’s from 200% and up here.

Naturally the higher the payout the higher your testing budget will be, but that brings us back to the simple advertising metrics. So you MUST know your numbers before you even start a new campaign!

How many clicks to break even?

The truth about dream chasing is, that it really is all about actually chasing that dream and pursuing it till the end of time. When others tell you, to give up, you stand up again and keep going! Again and again! That’s what dream chasing is all about.

We all had the same options when we started out. We were more or less broke and had to find a way to make money. The difference between the people who made it and those who didn’t is their mindset. If you are unable to make sacrifices in your life and give up certain things you love in your life to obtain that bit of extra cash to fund your business, than you’re simply weak. There’s no difference if you’re slinging crack on the corner or if you are a media buyer. The mindset is the same. It’s all about the hustle – chasing the dream of making it big!

So how do you make it big? The first thing on everyone’s mind is ‘money’ and more ‘money’. The problem most people have is, once they start earning money they start spending it like there’s no tomorrow.

This is the kind of mindset that will ruin you and bring you back to square one. Being broke, smoking some weed and dreaming of better days.

What do the smart entrepreneurs do with their money? It’s extremely simple!
We send it out to work for us. How do we do that? Every dollar comes in, has to go out to and bring more dollars back home. It’s as simple as that – and it’s all about having the mindset and self-discipline to leave that extra $100,000 in the bank and invest it into gold, silver, real estate, bit coins or what ever is ‘hot’ right now.

If I look at my personal Facebook timeline I can follow my progress from 2012 till today and see all the ups and downs in my personal and professional life. The start of AdultAdSpy.com, the opening of our first 8-figure company SmashRevenue.com and many other things that I have accomplished with no other person than my brother RichHomieTuan himself.

We have been through more ups and downs together then all of our readers in their entire lifetime. Set backs due to health issues, family issues, the Cyprus bank crack down and all the other stones that got thrown at us.

What kept us at the top is our mindset. We never thought for a single second to throw in the towel no matter how bad things went. We lost merchant processing, got screwed for 7 figure sums by eastern European dating companies and yet we still paid everyone on time, every time.

That’s the business mindset that puts us in the position where we are today. Most people are trying to achieve passive income. An easy $500/day without doing anything. If I’d told you that my daily passive income is in the six-figure range without lifting a finger besides checking stats once a week you wouldn’t believe it. Truth to be told, the numbers are pretty much accurate. Low six-figures but still enough to make an extremely comfortable living.

Obviously I am not telling you this to brag, but to kick you in your lazy ass and to brighten your horizon. Most of you are hard workers, wake up early, get on the grind and run campaign after campaign. Keep that fire burning and build a real business out of it. A marketing agency or invest in a totally different niche like the restaurant business.

When the going gets rough in the online space, you’ll be more than thankful that you didn’t buy that $150,000 iced out Rolex and invested the cash in some VC fund. Change your mindset and the rest will attend itself to it. Money isn’t the end of the road. It’s a vehicle to transport you like a taxi to an even bigger stash of money. That’s the mindset you need to keep and hammer into your brain day-in day-out.

Keep chasing your dreams and have your end goal in mind. It might be a buyout – it might be that fancy mansion on top of the hill. What ever it is, you have to adjust your mindset and willpower to get to it.

Today is something a bit out of the ordinary! It’s a guest post written by one of our affiliates. The guy is no super-affiliate by any means but on the right track to become a solid player in the adult space.
Listen carefully to what he has to say as he is dropping some solid advice in this post.

Over the past months he has been an active member of our community, reached out to his affiliate manager, Tuan, myself and we – especially Tuan – helped him to grow from $10/day to over $70,000/month. After all adult isn’t rocket science, you just have to listen and take action!
Anyway, I left his post completely unedited, so it’s as raw as it gets!

This guide is for anyone who is currently struggling to make money in the adult niche right now & I will be breaking down the exact steps I used to go from a struggling newbie making $10 a day in revenue with adult, to making over $70,000+ in revenue in June with Smash Revenue.

I’m going to assume you already have the basic tools needed to run your business already set up, such as:

• Tracking: (CPV labs, Voluum, imobirax)
• Photoshop (if you create your banners yourself)
• Hosting (I recommend a VPS Hosting provider)
• Sitesucker/ Httrack to rip landing pages
• FTP client like filezilla to upload landing pages to your server
• Dreamweaver to edit the html code on your landing pages

Now lets get straight to the money and here’s my…

7 Steps That Helped Me Bank Over $70,000 In June!

Step 1) SOI Lead Gen Offers = EASY MONEY!

If you are new, I would recommend starting off promoting Single Opt In lead gen mass appeal offers.

Smash Revenue has a LOT of very hot converting ones and these are the closest thing to an ATM machine you can find online as most offers just require a username, email and password and you get paid!

If you have a limited budget (lets say around $1,000) then these types of offers are perfect for you to start with as you can typically gather data relatively quickly with a small ad spend and you’ll have a likely chance of finding something profitable that you can work with if you follow the steps in this post!

If you have a tight budget of $1,000 or less you may want to start with an international offer outside of US CA AUS UK NZ & IE since competition and bid prices can be fierce, especially starting out with no competitive advantage!

If you have a higher budget, start with a tier 1 offer in countries like US CA UK but be prepared to know that bids and competition can be fierce!

Ask your AM at Smash what are the hottest offers on the network by EPC on the and ask if they can bump you immediately (…every competitive advantage starting off helps!)

You can choose a web or mobile offer – but just know that even though mobile offers typically have a lower payout they typically can run profitably for a longer duration than web campaigns because it is MUCH harder to spy on mobile since you may have to be a certain carrier and have a specific phone model in order for you to see an affiliates ads.

So there is many more levels of protection and traffic available on mobile than web.

The traffic source I would recommend starting off with is:

• Traffic Junky
• OR
• Exoclick

Just pick ONE and master it before moving on to another one as both can help you make at LEAST $1,000 a day!

Step 2) Swipe – Deploy – Improve

The easiest way to start making money in the adult niche is to swipe creatives and funnels of high volume affiliates and run it for yourself!

Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying to you and is probably doing it themselves but does not want you to know about it smh!

Use a combination of manual spying and counter intelligence tools like: adultadspy, whatrunswhere, adbeat to see what high volume affiliates are doing as they are likely to have their funnels and banners dialled in and profitable.

If you are running international geo’s I would recommend using a VPN like hidemyass to go on top tube sites and take note of the first ads that are displayed on that site. (Typically these are seasoned affiliates bidding high because they have something proven to make money)

Take the first banners that you see manually or the top banners that you see on the spy tools and the common landing pages and save them in a folder.

Use similar web.com to see how many impressions the domains you are manually spying on are getting per month and people with over a million visits per month are typically people who are making a lot of money so take note of their shit!

Make sure your banners and landing pages do NOT say the word “free” or “no credit card.”

This will get you booted off of an offer that could be a multiple 6/7 figure offer QUICKLY!

So you may have to use photoshop for this or outsource this to a graphic designer and a programmer to rip and modify the landing pages.

Step 3) Test Tighter Than Virgin Pussy

…Sorry for the explicitness but this is adult after all! 😉

Your initial test should be a MAXIMUM of:

• 5 Banners
• 2 Landing Pages
• 2 Offers

The more variables you include in your test the higher the budget you will need to have enough significant spend on each variable to determine whether a combination of banner landing page and offer is a potential winner or a clear loser.

Make sure that your tracker is set up properly and EVERYTHING is working and conversions are being registered, so run a small $50 test on your traffic network to make sure everything is running smoothly!

Always make sure before you start – your CPV labs post back URL is added to your offer so each time you get a conversion with smash, it displays on your tracker. (I’ve wasted a LOT of money by being lazy and not doing this so don’t make the same mistakes!)

Step 4) Launch Your Campaign And Acquire Data

EXPECT to lose money initially.

You have a 99% chance of losing money on an initial test and if you don’t have the balls for this, making money with adult may not for you.

Which is why I would recommend only testing with risk capital that you can afford to lose so you don’t make emotional decisions on your families life savings.

The good news is…

When you finally find a profitable combination, it can literally pay for all of your losses VERY quickly and create a personal ATM machine for you!

I suggest bidding competitively, but NEVER take the first position because you will start a bidding war which will KILL you if you are a newbie.

Bid near to the third highest bid on the traffic source you are using so you should be able to get a decent amount of traffic without creating a bidding war with seasoned affiliates.

Let your campaign run and do NOT pause ANYTHING  on your initial test because premature pausing is kind of like premature ejaculation…

It sucks when your sh*t flops before its time, and you don’t want to kill off a potential 6 figure winning combination if there are early signs of little/no profitability.

So let your campaign run and distract yourself by “Strategically” analysing women on your favourite porn site :p

Just joking!

Step 5) Prune & Optimize

It’s more than likely that you will be losing money at this point and this can really separate the boys from the men.

But all is not lost!

Pruning and optimising is the part where you get rid of the least profitable elements and with the elements that look promising, you try and get them into the profit zone and build your online ATM machine.

Remember, profitable campaigns are not found they are CREATED!!

Here’s a hypothetical lifecycle for a typical campaign and how you turn your campaign from a loser to a winner:

Day 1: -50% ROI
(Your initial test where you throw things against the wall and see what sticks)

Day 2: -20% ROI
(You pause 2 banners that are completely bombing and are not looking promising at all and continue running traffic to collect more data)

Day 3: -5% ROI
(You pause the lander that has the lowest ROI and continue running traffic)

Day 4: +10% ROI
(You run the ad with the highest ROI & profit and find 3 different new images similar to the image on the winning ad to improve its performance)

Day 5: +20% ROI
(You run the ad with the highest ROI & profit from all of the images that you test and you test 3 different headlines with your best image)

Day 6: +25% ROI
(You run the headline and image combination that is profiting the most and pause the offer that is the least profitable)

Day 7: +35% ROI
(You ask your affiliate manager for a pay bump and because you’ve sent quality traffic consistently over a period of time which instantly bumps your ROI and you start to do the shmoney dance :D)

**GOLDEN TIP**

Here are some of the factors that affect your profitability the most with your media buys and common mistakes to avoid:

Focus On EPC & PROFIT NOT CTR – Don’t focus your attention on the ads/ landing pages that have the highest CTR.

Focus on the ads/ landing pages that have the highest PROFIT.

When it comes down to media buying, all that matters is EPC and CPC.
– How much you’re earning per click and how much you are paying.

Everything else is nothing more than indicators so don’t be deluded.

If I’m paying $0.20 per click on an ad rand earning $0.30 per click I will take that any day over paying $0.04 per click on an ad and earning only $0.05 per click.

Remember you can not take CTR to the bank! Only PROFITS!

Unconventional Placements Can Be GOLDMINES – Test a lot of placements even unconventional ones! 

Sometimes opting to test the weird sized placements aside from the traditional “300×250″ “315×300” NTV placements can unlock EXTREMELY high CTR placements that can be EXTREMELY profitable with less competition.

The simple truth is that MOST people are too lazy to open up photoshop to resize a banner to these weird sizes so testing them can be HUGE Goldmines that can add majorly to your bottom line.

Pay bumps Protect PROFITS- If you can get a pay bump on your offer not only will it help boost your ROI, but it’s one of the easiest ways how to prevent competition from swiping and running your sh*t!

If you can get paid higher than the next affiliate for the same offer because you’ve built a relationship with that offer over a period of time and you’ve sent quality traffic, then even if the other affiliates swipes your whole funnel and runs it on the same source, you may still be profitable whilst he suffers from being lazy and you can run your offer for months whilst he only runs it for a few days!

Here’s some tips to help improve quality to help boost your chances of getting bumped:

• Send QUALITY traffic first by focusing on sending OLDER visitors who are the most likely to have money.

For example – On your banners you can use much older looking women who look over 50+ which will attract older men.

• Use words in your copy that will be more than likely to attract an older man. I.e. “Would you cheat on your wife?”

Men who have wives are typically older so this angle can help sift out the younger horny lot!

• On your landing pages you can state that people need to upgrade in order to get laid or have age segmentation where you let people know off the bat that they have to be 30 years old or over to access the site!

Any younger visitors you can send to the pay per sale version of the offer. (A coder can simply set this up for you but it will MAJORLY help boost your quality!)

Trust me if you do this and can run quality visitors who back out into sales – you can sometimes get DOUBLE the street payout for the offer, exclusiveness on the offer, higher caps and you’ll be able to run on the offer long term rather than getting booted off a potential 6/7 figure offer after the first week.

Step 6) Scaling & Maintaining Profits

This is the difference between turning a campaign from one that makes $10 a day to one which does $1,000+ a day.

With adult you NEED to keep testing new variations of banners continuously because your banners and landers WILL get swiped.

So once you start making a profit with a banner you want to test new variations consistently to always have a back up of winning creatives and reinvest your profits into your campaigns (…and NOT the strip club!)

You want to squeeze as much profit as possible out of those banners before they die out and get saturated.

So in order to do this you can scale vertically and horizontally!
You can scale vertically by:

1) Running traffic on multiple placements on ONE website and literally dominate the websites’ banner space.

This means running on the header placements, all the next to video placements, the footer placements, and all of the placements available on that website.

2) Increase your frequency caps to get more impressions on the profitable placements you are running on.

Doubling your frequency cap from 2 impressions per 24 hours to 4 impressions per 24 hours will double your impressions and can expose your ad more frequently to visitors who may have missed it the first couple times because they were preoccupied…

But just know your CTR is likely to decrease much faster as banner blindness kicks in!

3) Go through a managed network who brokers the traffic where you can buy a bulk amount of impressions from the website without having to worry about an increase in bids or a bidding war on traditional networks.

With managed networks you can literally say to your rep: “Hey I want 10 million impressions per day on Xhamster” and they will literally deliver it to you at a fixed price, but I will only recommend this once you’ve developed some experience and properly tested on self serve traffic networks as you do have to put forward more money upfront!
You can also scale horizontally by:

1) Running your winning placements on similar sites to your winning one that have the same type of placements as your winning placement

2) Run on multiple traffic networks or make multiple accounts with your winning traffic network

3) Run the web offers mobile version and turn your winning ads into their mobile versions.

4) Running the winning placements across multiple GEO’s that your offer accepts.

Step 7)Reinvest Profits Into Campaigns & Infrastructure 

Once you start making money do NOT start blowing it in the strip club every day even if it is tempting!

Live frugally to keep your expenses LOW so you can focus on increasing your income as fast as POSSIBLE so you can eventually be like Jay & have a new luxury car for each day of the week

So I would recommend the #1 thing you can invest your profits in is INFORMATION!!

This is a knowledge based business, which means the more you know the more your bank account will GROW!

So invest in mentoring/ masterminds/ products especially from Tuan & Jay who run 8 figure per year businesses (…so I think they know a thing or two about making money online!)

Literally transferring their knowledge into your head WILL change your bank accounts VERY QUICKLY – and I can guarantee doing so, bar none will have the highest ROI of all of your endeavours IF and ONLY IF you take ACTION!

Also reinvest into the infrastructure of your business.

Which means once you start building some traction, start investing in software that can help streamline your current processes & start OUTSOURCING!

The main things I’ll recommend an intermediate media buyer to outsource are the following:

1) A solid programmer who can create scripts for you to help you remonetize your traffic and do all of the landing page and technical work for you.

2) A graphic designer who can help you create banners and create variations of your winning banners.

3) A virtual assistant/ junior media buyer who you can train to create campaigns for you and any data entry tasks that you may need.

But make sure you hire STAR players on your team even if you have to pay a little more for their time and expertise.

This way you’ll be able to step AWAY from your business and it will STILL GROW even without you – and at this point you will have a REAL business as opposed to an online hustle.

At the end of the day, would you rather make $10,000 per month working 40 hours per week like someone in a job, or have people build your business to $100,000 per month FOR YOU whilst you check your stats at the end of the day for 30 mins a day to see how much money other people’s efforts have made you?

Trust me systems are the KEY to wealth online and your goal should be to create systems that other people can manage for you and NOT be micromanaging people all of the time (…which can be a big headache)

But this will only come about from hiring STAR players on your team!

Imagine having Stephen Curry, Lebron James, James Harden, Dwight Howard & Kobe All On The Same Team. What would happen?

There you go, they would dominate and that’s what you want for your business! STAR PLAYERS!
Time To Take Action To Make TRANSACTIONS!

Don’t be one of those broke ass affiliates who reads all of this content and does NOTHING and wonders why they’re not making money with adult, thinking you have to be part of some secret society to actually finally start profiting.

I started off making just $10 a day REVENUE – which you can see from my follow along in the adultmediabuys forum, and now at just 21 i’m making peoples yearly salaries who are double my age, in a single month.

Adult is an evergreen niche. Humans are not designed to be monogamous and be with a single partner for the rest of their lives. It’s not because we just want to get our rocks off but we are naughty by nature (no pun intended!). It’s in our DNA.
The dating niche is literally exploding with new offers the past 2-3 years but most offers fold as fast as they appear on the market.
Affiliates want one thing and one thing only – SOI offers with super high DOI-like payouts.

What they forget to understand is the other side of the coin. The advertiser has to make money on every lead you send and you’re not giving them much beside an unconfirmed email and maybe a username.

The email can be fake or real but never be confirmed and the advertiser won’t ever be able to monetize it. Now if you scale that up and say you’re an advertiser who is getting thousands of those (dead) emails and paying $3+ a pop, you are losing money on a daily basis, which is an unsustainable business model of course.

Somehow you have to make your money back and barely any of the new guys on the block (advertisers) get it right. There are a handful of top-converting SOI offers that have been in the business for 3+ years by now. The owner behind it is one smart-cat and has been in the adult business for over 10 years and clearly knows what he is doing.

When I get approached about the top converting offers on SMASH Revenue, I always point them towards the same offers as I know the offers convert, they won’t fold in a week and despite the advertiser being strict on quality, they are very helpful to get your sub_id on the right track. After all it’s a win/win situation for the affiliate and the advertiser if the leads are backing out and you (the affiliate) make a decent ROI on your campaigns.

The number one reason for getting booted off a dating offer is a misleading banner and landing page combination. Lets think about it from a customer point of view.
I am sure you have signed up to one or the other dating site in your lifetime, so how inclined are you to pay for something that has been advertised as FREE?
Of course you feel screwed over and don’t have much faith in the site anymore if you’re already mislead on the sign-up process.

The second most common reason is the age group you are targeting. Well how the hell do you target age groups with adult traffic on tube sites?
It’s not like Facebook where you’re able to select hundreds of different targeting options. The adult self-serve platforms are pretty limited when it comes to targeting, but how you handle the traffic is where it really matters if you’re sending quality or garbage to the advertiser.

A typical quality lander offers certain variables, such as simple questions like ‘Are you 25 years and older’ -> send them to a PPL offer.
If they aren’t over 25 years of age, you simply redirect them to another offer. This can be another dating offer, or even the same but on a CPS basis.
It’s probably nothing new to most of you out there and it doesn’t sound like rocket science but seeing hundreds of different dating landers per week, I can tell you that at least 90-95% of affiliates simply don’t know how to filter their traffic properly.

Another way is to build multi-step landers and pre-qualify your leads before sending them to a SOI offer. After all SOI is viewed as the holy grail by most affiliates as it’s initially very easy to convert, but it won’t take long to get booted off the offer if you’re sending poor quality leads.

Your traffic can be total garbage, it can be blind traffic, skimmed traffic or even redirect traffic – what it really comes down to is how you filter it on your landing page.

DOI offers on the other hand have a higher payout and quality isn’t that big of an issue but the average affiliate might have a harder time converting them. Truth to be told, the discrepancy between a SOI and DOI offer isn’t as huge as you might think.

There is no reason to chase after the next best SOI offer, day after day. Build a solid relationship with your network and a certain amount of offers and try to make them work versus doing your hit and run campaigns. If you’re loyal to an offer and try to work with the advertiser through your affiliate manager to make it work – for them – and you, you’ll have pretty good chances to be able to run the same campaigns for months or even years!
